Fly Fishing at its best
Shenandoah River
Long time Fly Fishing Client Joel booked us for a last minute solo angler trip. It was a beautiful day and everything felt right about fishing the Shenandoah River. I had been wanting to get Joel out on a stretch that he had only fished once in the 7 or 8 years he's been fishing with me. The day started a little slow but with a few fly changes we began to get into some Smallmouth Bass. When we hoped into the first ledge system the first cast landed a 20.50" 4lb post spawn Smallmouth Bass. Joel's first 20 with me. The water was skinny in the ledges and he did exactly what any seasoned Fly Guy could do to keep the fish off a life time from running into rocks to break him off. With in an hour he had another 20" Shenandoah Smallie in the boat! our was an epic day!
Gear & Tackle Used:
